It was working fine at 7pm. I turned it off to put my kids to bed, turned it back on at 7:30 and it's stuck on the logo/opening screen. I've tried unplugging it a couple times to no avail. The screen will occasionally go black for a few seconds but then the logo/opening screen comes back up.

Solved: Received a brand new Roku Express today. It connected to internet okay, downloaded and installed updates, then just sits at startup screen with bouncing logo and goes no further. I have done hard reset using button on back and it makes no.

Find the hidden recessed reset button and hold it in for a minimum of 30 seconds. Ignore whatever is happening on the screen, you must hold it for at least 30 seconds to properly trigger the reset. Then power cycle and see if you get the initial welcome and setup screen.
